I am a Clinical Psychologist, researcher and lecturer with extensive experience supporting people experiencing a wide range of psychological difficulties.
I provide warm, compassionate and evidence-based psychological therapy, tailored to your individual needs, goals and circumstances.
My approach draws on CBT, trauma-focused and relational approaches, with an emphasis on understanding your experiences in the context of your life history.
My training allows me to draw on the approaches that work best for you—whether that means practical, 'here-and-now' tools like CBT, or trauma-focused, relational models that explore your current experiences within the context of your life history. To find out more, see How I work as a therapist.
Much of my career has been dedicated to supporting people through complex difficulties, including extreme emotional highs and lows, psychosis, and the lasting impact of trauma. Whether you are looking to navigate daily anxieties or are facing deeply overwhelming periods in your life, I can work with you to make sense of what you are going through and help you find safety and stability.
Beginning therapy can feel daunting, especially for the first time. If you think we might be a good fit, please just reach out to say hello at hello@drrebeccakelly.com.
There is no need to share details or personal history right away. Reaching out doesn't commit you to booking anything, and it is completely fine to change your mind or decide to wait until you feel ready.
As Training and Innovational lead on the Wellcome Trust-funded AVATAR3 study, I support the development and delivery of innovative digital therapy for distressing voices, both in the UK and internationally.
Please note: AVATAR therapy cannot be delivered in my private practice, though this innovative approach informs my clinical work.
At University College London (UCL), I co-lead the Psychosis and Bipolar pathway of the CBT for Severe Mental Health Problems (SMHP) programmes.
I lead the teaching on bipolar and trauma-informed CBT, train supervisors, and assess the prac tice of mental health professionals to ensure they meet advanced, evidence-based standards.
I have a BSc and PhD in Psychology from the University of Manchester. I completed my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and Post Graduate Diploma in CBT for psychosis at the highly respected Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, King's College London. I completed my ISST-accredited Schema Therapy training at the Maudsley Hospital, London.
