I am a dedicated, perceptive, and compassionate clinician who believes that therapy works best when we collaborate closely to make sense of your world. My focus is on understanding what you are experiencing right now, exploring how your past might be relevant to your present, and figuring out what you need to live a fulfilling life.
Alongside my academic and research roles, I run my small private practice entirely online. While working remotely allows me to balance these commitments, it offers unique advantages for the individuals I support. Delivering therapy via video allows you to access highly specialised care directly from the safety of your own environment—which can be especially helpful if you are navigating significant highs and lows, distressing periods, or times when leaving the house feels overwhelming.
• A steady, digital space: Having significant experience delivering therapy online, I will ensure our sessions feel structured and containing, allowing us to build a warm and genuinely collaborative relationship.
• Sessions are tailored to your pace and preferences. Whether you need structured, practical tools to navigate the 'here-and-now' or a gentle space to make sense of past experiences—and whether you want regular sessions or an occasional space to think things through—you are in control.
• Come as you are. All you require is a private, quiet space where you won't be interrupted, and a reliable internet connection.
Every person is entirely unique, and there are no one-size-fits-all therapies. In our sessions, I combine elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Schema Therapy, rooted in a compassion-focused approach.
• Navigating the here-and-now (CBT): We will work together to find practical, everyday tools to manage overwhelming periods, severe mood fluctuations, or distressing moments. This style of therapy focuses on giving you immediate ways to find your footing and feel more able to cope in the present.
• Understanding the bigger picture (Schema Therapy): Complex or long-standing difficulties often connect to early or traumatic experiences. We will gently explore your personal history to understand underlying patterns, and meet core emotional needs. This helps us create lasting change, rather than just managing symptoms that might be visible on the surface.
To ensure you receive the highest standard of care, and to maintain my specialist clinical and academic roles, I intentionally choose to keep my private practice very small—usually seeing just one or two private clients at any given time.
Working with complex or long-standing difficulties takes skill and care, and a lot of the work happens outside of your sessions. To maintain quality, I dedicate time for clinical reflection, detailed formulation, and supervision.
While I specialise in complex mental health difficulties, an online practice is best suited for those who are safe to be supported on a weekly, outpatient basis. If you are experiencing an acute crisis requiring urgent or immediate medical support, reaching out to your local NHS crisis team or emergency services is the safest path forward, as an online private practice cannot provide continuous acute care.
